Frequently Asked Questions
General
Gamting Trade is a peer-to-peer betting exchange where you can back or lay outcomes on live sports markets. Unlike a traditional bookmaker, you bet against other users, not the house. Odds are set by the market and you get the best available price.
A bookmaker sets fixed odds and takes the other side of every bet itself. On an exchange, you bet against other users. You can both BACK (bet something will happen) and LAY (bet something will NOT happen). This gives you more flexibility and often better odds.
Yes. Your account balance is held separately and is available for withdrawal at any time. We only deduct funds when a bet is settled. Deposits and withdrawals are processed through verified payment channels.
Back & Lay Betting
When you BACK a selection, you are betting that it WILL happen. For example, backing Team A to win at odds of 2.50 with a stake of ₹100 returns ₹250 (profit of ₹150) if Team A wins. If Team A loses, you lose your ₹100 stake.
When you LAY a selection, you are betting that it will NOT happen — you act as the bookmaker. If the selection loses, you win the backer's stake. If it wins, you pay out the backer's winnings (the liability). Your liability = stake × (odds − 1).
Exposure is the maximum amount you can lose across all your open (unsettled) bets. For BACK bets it is your stake. For LAY bets it is your liability (stake × (odds − 1)). The exchange reserves your exposure from your balance while a bet is open. Exposure is released once the market settles.
No. All bets placed on Gamting Trade are final and cannot be cancelled or edited once confirmed. Please review your selection, odds, and stake carefully before placing a bet.
Fancy Bets
Fancy bets are proposition markets for in-play cricket events — for example "Total runs in the first 6 overs", "Batsman runs", or "Fall of wicket". They use a rate-based (Yes/No) format instead of decimal odds. You back YES if you think the result will be higher than the quoted rate, or NO if you think it will be lower.
Fancy bets are settled using the formula: Profit/Loss = Stake × |Result − Rate| ÷ 100. If you backed YES and the result exceeds the rate, you win; otherwise you lose your stake. Markets are settled as soon as the result is confirmed.
If a Fancy market cannot be settled due to an abandoned or incomplete event, all bets in that market are voided and stakes are returned in full.
Settlement & Results
Markets are settled as soon as the official result is confirmed. For cricket this is typically within a few minutes of the match completing. Winnings are credited to your account balance immediately after settlement.
Results are sourced from our official data provider and, where applicable, the governing body of the sport. In the event of a discrepancy between our provider and the official governing body, the governing body's result takes precedence.
If a match is abandoned before a result can be determined, all open bets in the affected markets are voided and stakes are returned. Match winner markets that already have a result at the time of abandonment will be settled on the result declared by the governing body.
